Real Digipak Analysis

There are many different things that need to be considered when you are designing a digipak. Seeing as all of the required information needs to be on the digipak, when you design it you will need to think about the size, font, colour and position of all the objects.
First you will need to decide where the name of the artist and the name of the album will go. Simple things such as whether the writing will go at the top or the bottom can massively affect the impact of the cover. One of the main things that is unique on each digipak and album cover is the font that is used.  As you can see on Britney Spears' album Femme Fatale, the font that is used is elegant and stylish which you would expect from a female artist but also because of the title of the album. For example, Daft Punk wouldn't be using the same font as Britney Spears' album cover because it won't fit with their kind of music. The next thing that needs to be considered is the size of the artist and the album text. The main objective is to make sure that the album name is the biggest thing to be seen on the cover so that people who see the cover will know what the album is called.
Normally the artist name will be somewhere on the cover but smaller because the main focus will be on the title. The last thing that needs to be thought about with the title and the artist name is the colour. In terms of this album cover, the colour is generally shiny. I think that this makes the title simply stand out from the rest of the album cover.
Everything in the cover will need to be planned and then placed in certain areas to make them the most effective. The images in the background need to be there to fill the space but to not become the centre of attention. Although sometimes it may the the only image on the cover, sometimes that is not its main objective. But on the other hand, on some album covers such as Daft Punk's there isn't any text but just a picture. Since their more iconic image is the fact that no one knows what they look like but wear masks, people will be able to recognise them simply because of that.
All album covers and digipaks will need to have a theme that they follow. As you can see from Britney Spears' album cover, since it is a female artist the cover will need to look like it. If the cover was like Daft Punk's, then her fans would question why it was made like this.
