- Name of Artist and Album
- Track List
- Barcode and record company logo
- Six Panels
- Spine - Name of Artist and Album
- Disk Impression
- An image of the band on the inside
The first thing that you need to add to a digipak is to include the name or the artist or the band so that the person or fans that are going to buy the album need to who's music they are buying and what the current album is. It is also very important that the album had all of the songs that are included in the the single or double CD. This ensures that the customer knows what they are getting when they buy the album.
The bar code is important because the customer needs to be able to buy the disk but it also helps the artist because it then allows them to make money from the fans buying their music. Seeing as the record company are the instruments who sponsor the people and give them all the equipment and popularity to the band, it is also important that the people who are buying this artist or bands music who it is that helped to release it.
There are variations as to the size of the digipak as they can come on sizes of six or for but for the digipak that I am soon going to be producing, means that it will need to be six sided so that we woo have enough space to dull all of the information onto the digipak, this will also include some of the information that some of the members of our group feel that we will need to include as well. On the spine of the digipak we well need to include the artist and the album name so that even if the digipak is stored on its side on standing up, either way, the customers well be able to see the name of the artist and the album.
Its all good and well that the digipak has all of the relevant information on it such as the tracks that are included in the album, the artist and the album name but it may also help if it has a picture of the band members or artist somewhere on the packaging. There needs to be an iconic image or symbol on the packaging so that the fan or customer can easily recognise who the band is. For example, with The Gorillaz they haven't got actual bands members to show on their cover but they have caricatures but it is their symbol and the fans of their type of music will instantly notice the cover because of its unique style.
